Thank you for purchasing from Skip Dating, Inc. These Terms of Sale ("Terms") govern your purchase of (a) Skip Date Cards ("Cards") and (b) background checks and related verification services offered through the Skip app ("Digital Services") from Skip Dating, Inc. ("Skip," "we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing Cards or Digital Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Order and Payment
- All orders are subject to acceptance and availability.
- Payment must be made at the time of purchase. We accept payments through PayPal.
- Prices are listed in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes and shipping fees.
- Digital Services pricing: The price for Digital Services is the amount displayed to you at checkout at the time you place your order.
- Corrections: We may correct pricing or description errors. If an order is impacted by a verified error, we may cancel the order and issue a refund.
- Chargebacks and suspected fraud: If we detect suspected fraud or a chargeback is filed for a purchase, we may suspend or restrict the related account and any associated access to Cards or Digital Services, subject to applicable law.
2. Shipping and Delivery (Cards Only)
- We will process and ship your Card order within approximately 7 to 14 business days.
- Estimated delivery times may vary depending on your location and shipping method selected.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party carriers.
- Address accuracy: You are responsible for entering a correct shipping address. If an order is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address, we may require you to pay additional shipping to resend the order.
3. Returns and Refunds
3.1 Cards
- No returns after order placement: Once your order for Skip Date Cards has been placed, we do not accept returns. Please ensure that all details of your order are correct before completing your purchase.
- Damaged or defective items: If your Skip Date Cards arrive damaged or defective, please contact our support team at info@skip.dating within 7 days of receiving your order. Please include clear photos of the issue. We will review and, where appropriate, provide a replacement or refund.

3.2 Digital Services (Background Checks and Related Verification)
Digital Services are not physical goods.
- No returns.
- Refund policy:
- All sales are final once a Digital Service is initiated. “Initiated” means we or our providers have started processing your order, for example, a screening request is created, an invite is sent, an identity review begins, or a report is ordered or produced.
- Payment is for processing, not approval. Your purchase covers the cost of initiating and processing the background check and related verification steps. A “declined,” “consider,” “suspended,” or otherwise non approved outcome does not make the purchase refundable once the Digital Service is initiated.
- This includes situations where the provider requests additional information or documentation and you do not complete the request within the timeframe required by the provider.
- If you were charged due to a verified technical error (for example, a duplicate charge), contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, issue a refund or credit at our discretion.
- Timing is not guaranteed: Many checks are completed quickly, but some can take several business days depending on the review process, record availability, or if additional information is needed.
4. Cancellations and Changes
4.1 Cards
- Once an order is placed, we cannot guarantee modifications or cancellations.
- If you need to make a change, please contact our support team as soon as possible.
4.2 Digital Services
- Once a Digital Service is initiated, it generally cannot be canceled.
5. Limited Warranty
5.1 Cards
- Skip Date Cards are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy or effectiveness of the Cards in facilitating connections or experiences.
5.2 Digital Services
- Digital Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee that Digital Services will identify all records, issues, or risks, or that they will be suitable for any particular purpose.
6. Background Check and Verification Disclosures (Digital Services)
- What “Digital Services” includes: “Digital Services” includes background checks, identity verification, and any similar verification or screening services offered in the app from time to time.
- Third-party providers: Background checks and related verification services are performed by third-party providers. Skip facilitates the ordering process and may show status updates or results as made available by the provider.
- Availability and eligibility: Digital Services may not be available in all jurisdictions or for all users. Eligibility and requirements may vary based on provider requirements and applicable law.
- Who pays: If a background check is required, the person completing the background check is responsible for the cost. Pricing may vary and will be shown during the background check flow before completion.
- Not a guarantee of safety: Digital Services can reduce risk, but they cannot guarantee a person’s identity, behavior, intent, or safety.
- What others can see: Skip does not publicly display your full background check report to your matches. Matches may only see status information or a badge related to background check completion. Any status or badge is provided for informational purposes only and is not a certification, endorsement, or guarantee.
- Accuracy and disputes: If you believe background check information is inaccurate, you must follow the dispute or reinvestigation process provided by the screening provider.
- User responsibilities and requested information: Digital Services may require your consent and additional information or documentation requested by our providers. You agree to provide accurate information and to complete any requested steps within a reasonable timeframe, based on what our provider requests. If you do not provide requested information, your check may be delayed, may not be completed, or may result in a “declined,” “consider,” “suspended,” or otherwise non approved outcome, and there will be no refunds once a Digital Service is initiated.
- Expired or incomplete submissions: If you do not complete requested steps, your background check may remain incomplete or expire. If that happens, you may need to start the process again and pay for a new background check.
- Invite link expiry: If your background check invite link expires, the old link will no longer work and you will need to restart the background check flow in the app to receive a new invite link or follow the latest prompt provided by Skip.
- Validity period and repurchase: If your background check is approved, your approved status is valid for 12 months from the approval date (or as shown in the Skip app). After that period, you may need to complete and purchase a new background check to renew your approved status.
- Badges and status can change: A badge reflects a status at a point in time. If the background check expires, a recheck is required, or your status changes, your badge or status may change.
- Non approval and account status: If your background check is not approved, Skip may disable or restrict your account. In some cases, you may not be eligible to repurchase or retry a background check for at least 12 months, as shown in the Skip app and subject to our Community Guidelines.
- Changes to Digital Services: Skip may change, pause, or discontinue Digital Services (or any part of the flow) at any time, subject to applicable law.
- Additional legal notices: Additional provider or jurisdiction specific legal notices and disclaimers may apply and will be provided within the background check experience or results display.
7. Liability Limitations
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skip Dating, Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Cards or Digital Services.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skip’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to a purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific purchase giving rise to the claim.
8. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
9. Other Governing Terms
These Terms are in addition to Skip’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines. If there is a conflict between these Terms and other policies as they relate to purchases and refunds, these Terms control for that limited purpose.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
